Phone call between Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers; emphasis on breaking the siege of Gaza
Pars Today – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan on Friday, emphasized the need to utilize all capacities to end the siege on Gaza.
The two discussed regional and international developments. Araghchi highlighted the catastrophic situation in Gaza due to escalating crimes by the Zionist regime—especially the food and medicine blockade—and stressed the importance of mobilizing mechanisms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international frameworks to end the siege, deliver humanitarian supplies, and stop the ongoing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He also condemned the Israeli Knesset’s move to impose occupation over the West Bank, calling it another sign of the regime’s expansionist and lawless nature. Araghchi added that this action, amid genocide in Gaza and severe human rights violations in the West Bank, reveals the Zionists’ intent to eliminate Palestine as a land, nation, and independent identity. He further said that the firm stance of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the majority of countries around the world in condemning it, is highly important and significant. / IRNA
