Pars Today – The media advisor for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated on Thursday that while hundreds of humanitarian aid trucks are currently entering Gaza daily, up to one thousand trucks per day could enter the area via five land crossings if Tel Aviv were willing.

Adnan Abu Hasna announced that the amount of aid currently entering Gaza is "greater than before," but it is "like a drop in the ocean" compared to the "enormous needs" the strip is facing after months of war.

The UNRWA media advisor added that before the recent escalation of attacks, Gaza was receiving 70 to 80 trucks per day, whereas now hundreds of trucks are entering. However, the strip actually needs "tens of thousands of trucks continuously," and the occupiers could, if they wished, permit the entry of a thousand trucks daily through the five land crossings.

Abu Hasna emphasized that this crisis is not limited to the supply of food. It also includes essential medicines and therapeutic foods needed to save lives, as well as spare parts for the largely collapsed sewage, water, and healthcare systems.

Abu Hasna also revealed that over 90% of Gaza's population is suffering from malnutrition to varying degrees, with "tens of thousands of children" suffering from "severe levels" of this growing threat. He stated that the humanitarian situation remains extremely dire and that it is too early to speak of any recovery.
