Growing doubts and uncertainty in U.S. support for Israeli regime

Pars Today — On Monday, an Israeli newspaper reported that the bipartisan consensus in the United States (Democrats and Republicans) in support of Israel is no longer as strong as before, and the future of Washington’s backing for the regime is being challenged from both the left and the right.

The Israeli economic newspaper Globes wrote that U.S. support for Israel, which had been virtually guaranteed for decades, is now facing increasing threats from both political factions. The newspaper added that young American Democrats are showing greater sympathy for the Palestinians, and among the isolationist right wing and certain media figures, anti-Jewish sentiments have emerged, making previous political alliances more fragile. The report further notes that this shift threatens the traditional stability of U.S. military aid to Israel, which amounts to approximately $3.8 billion annually.
