Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel
Pars Today – Responding to Donald Trump’s statements, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel declared that no one can dictate Cuba’s actions.
According to reports, Trump had asserted that Cuba must negotiate with the United States and threatened that no more “oil or money” would be sent to the island. Following the U.S. attack on Venezuela and the attempted abduction of President Nicolás Maduro, Trump claimed that Cuba had lost its primary economic support due to the halt of Venezuelan oil and suggested that the Cuban government’s collapse seemed “inevitable.”
In response, Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez described Trump as someone “lacking full understanding of Cuba” and affirmed that Cubans are ready to “give their lives” to defend their national sovereignty. / IRNA
