U.S. designates Muslim Brotherhood branches in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan as terrorist organizations

Pars Today – The U.S. Department of the Treasury has placed branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan on its list of terrorist groups, announcing that it will use all available tools to cut off the organization’s financial resources.

Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, emphasized following the decision that Washington is committed to combating what it calls “financial support for terrorism.”

The Muslim Brotherhood has previously been designated as a terrorist organization in countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Syria, and Bahrain. This move coincides with Trump’s return to power and increased pressure from Republicans to sanction the organization. / IRNA
