Iraq opposes use of its territory for any aggression against other countries

Pars Today – The Iraqi government and the Coordination Framework of Shia groups in the country, in separate statements, emphasized their opposition to and rejection of the use of Iraqi territory for any aggression against other nations.

Sabah Al-Naman, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, said in a statement on Saturday: “In light of rapid regional developments and the tensions and threats arising from them against regional security and stability, the Republic of Iraq reaffirms its firm and principled position in rejecting the use of its land, airspace, or territorial waters for any military action against any country.”

The office also issued a statement underlining its opposition to using Iraqi territory for aggression against any country, particularly Iran, and expressed support for diplomatic and political solutions to resolve crises. / IRNA
