Iranian films sweep awards at Belarus international festival
Pars Today – Iranian films won seven awards at the Listapad International Film Festival in Belarus.
During the Listapad International Film Festival in Belarus, held from October 31 to November 7 in Minsk, several Iranian films won awards in various categories. According to Pars Today, the film Banana Garden won the Best Youth Cinema Film award.
Additionally, the festival jury awarded honorary diplomas to Under the Shady Oak directed by Hossein Allahyari, Qamartaj by Hadi and Mehdi Zarei, and Guardian of the Field directed by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan.
Morteza Kafouri, the cinematographer of Guardian of the Field, received the Yuri Marukhin Award for Best Cinematography in a feature film. Additionally, Dreamland directed by Mohsen Enayati won the Jury’s Special Prize in the Children and Youth Films category, as well as the Artistic Expression of Universal Human Values Award.
Five Iranian films invited to India film festival
At the 56th International Film Festival of India, which will begin on November 20, several films by Iranian filmmakers will be featured. In the First Films competition, Raha directed by Hesam Farahmand will compete, while in the UNICEF competitive section, K-poper, directed by Ebrahim Amini, will vie for the Gandhi Medal.
Additionally, the films Black Rabbit, White Rabbit, and Woman and Child will be screened in non-competitive sections.
“Palestine 36” named Best Film at Tokyo festival
At the closing ceremony of the 2025 Tokyo International Film Festival, the historical film Palestine 36 directed by Annemarie Jacir won the festival’s Grand Prize. Representing Palestine in this year’s Oscars Best International Feature Film category, the film depicts the Arab uprising against British colonial rule in the 1930s.
Two Iranian films, Far in the Middle of the East and Noah’s Daughter, were also screened in the festival’s “Future of Asia” section. The 38th Tokyo International Film Festival was held from October 27 to November 5.
“Iranian Carpet Art Day” held at Tehran embassy in Berlin
“Iranian Carpet Art Day” was held at the conference hall of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin, with the participation of several ambassadors and diplomats residing in Germany, as well as a group of enthusiasts of authentic Iranian culture and art. At the event, Majid Nili, Iran’s ambassador to Germany, described the Iranian carpet as a symbol of artistry, patience, and the refined taste of the Iranian people, emphasizing its important role in introducing Iran’s rich culture to the world.
Nili also noted that the establishment of a joint Iran–Germany Carpet House presents an opportunity to expand and facilitate cooperation in this field. During the event, exquisite and valuable carpets from various regions of Iran were displayed, receiving great appreciation from attendees. Later in the ceremony, some guests tied “friendship knots” on a loom, symbolizing cultural bonds and friendship between nations.
