North Korea congratulates Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei on election as Leader of the Islamic Revolution; Condemns Zionist regime and US attack on Iran

ParsToday – North Korea congratulated Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei on his election as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

According to ParsToday, quoting IRNA, North Korea's state news agency announced that Pyongyang supports the election of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the leader of Iran and condemns the aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime.

The North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that it strongly condemns the aggressive actions of the United States and the Zionist regime and the "illegal" attacks against Iran, which destroy peace and increase instability worldwide. Given the conflict in the West Asia region caused by the destabilizing actions of the United States, North Korea's state news agency also stated that the country tested a strategic cruise missile designed for a naval destroyer on Tuesday.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had congratulated Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei on his election as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution by sending a congratulatory message.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday, emphasized the condemnation of the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran and congratulated his Iranian counterpart on the election of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On March 8, 2026, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei became the third leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran with a decisive vote from the Assembly of Experts.
