Pars Today – Iranian researchers have introduced an innovative method that can remove persistent aqueous pollutants more quickly and effectively.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, researchers at Tarbiat Modares University in Iran, in collaboration with several international research centers in Spain and China, have developed an innovative method to enhance the performance of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), enabling faster and more efficient removal of resistant water pollutants.

This modified material succeeded in increasing the rate of atrazine removal by 5.7 times compared to the original MOF sample and by 17.7 times compared to conventional ozonation.

Atrazine is a widely used herbicide that, due to its high stability and potential adverse biological effects, has long been a concern for environmental researchers. Removing this compound from water is not simple using conventional methods and requires more advanced technologies.
