Pezeshkian expresses Iran's readiness to facilitate maritime traffic, ensure navigation security in Strait of Hormuz

Pars Today – The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran held a phone conversation with Sanae Takaichi, the Prime Minister of Japan, during which he expressed appreciation for Japan’s humanitarian and pharmaceutical assistance to Iran and emphasized Iran’s determination to resolve regional issues and tensions through dialogue and diplomacy.
Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran has always considered diplomacy the most effective solution to existing challenges, adding that unfortunately, some parties, including the United States, through non-compliance with their commitments, as well as destabilizing actions by the Israeli regime, have complicated diplomatic processes.
Referring to regional developments, he described the repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, the continued displacement of Lebanese citizens, and U.S. political and military support for the actions of the Israeli regime as concerning, calling on the international community to take effective responsibility in stopping this trend.
He also emphasized Iran’s readiness to facilitate maritime movement and ensure the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized the importance of the security and freedom of navigation in international waterways, stating that Iran is fully prepared to facilitate maritime transit.
He added that the main problem stems from restrictions and obstacles imposed by the United States on Iran’s shipping and trade.
The president also stressed that Iran will take all possible measures to normalize maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and to maintain stability and security in this strategic passage.
Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan, in the same phone call, expressed her country’s support for diplomatic solutions and voiced hope that relations between Tehran and Tokyo would expand further in various fields.
The Japanese prime minister also referred to her consultations with American officials, emphasizing the need to continue diplomacy and dialogue to reduce tensions and resolve disputes.
