Pars Today – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a message offering condolences on the passing away of the high-ranking religious authority Ayatollah Hajj Sheikh Is'haq Fayyad, has praised his scholarly and seminary services and extended condolences to the holy seminary of Najaf Ashraf, the people of Afghanistan, and his family on this loss.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, the text of the message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
To God we belong, and to Him we return.

The news of the passing away of the high-ranking religious authority, Ayatollah Hajj Sheikh Is'haq Fayyad (may his soul be sanctified), has caused great sorrow and grief, and has plunged the seminaries, especially the holy seminary of Najaf Ashraf, into mourning.

Years of presence in the holy seminary of Najaf Ashraf, gaining knowledge from the presence of its great figures, such as the late Ayatollah Seyyed Abolghasem Khoei (God bless his soul), training students, authoring books, supervising the scientific current of that seminary, and guiding the faithful and followers, were only a part of the services of this jurist—services that will not be forgotten and whose righteous effects will remain, God willing.

I offer my condolences on this painful loss to the seminary of Najaf Ashraf, to all the followers and admirers of this late authority, especially to the resilient and steadfast people of Afghanistan and his honorable family. I beseech the Almighty God to grant the late blessed authority high ranks and companionship with the divine saints, and to grant his survivors beautiful patience and abundant reward.

Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei
