Araghchi: Iran-Iraq solidarity reflects deep religious and human bonds between two nations

Pars Today – Iran's Foreign Minister, during a meeting with the Governor of Najaf, expressed appreciation for the positions taken by the officials, senior religious authorities, and people of Najaf in showing solidarity with and support for the Iranian nation.

He also thanked the local authorities of the province for their cooperation in organizing the funeral ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, describing this solidarity as a reflection of the profound religious and humanitarian ties between the peoples of Iran and Iraq.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Youssef Kanawi, Governor of Najaf, met and held talks with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, who is visiting Iraq for official meetings with Iraqi officials and to coordinate the funeral ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the arrangements for the funeral procession of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, as well as the necessary coordination for hosting the delegations and pilgrims expected to attend the ceremony.

The Governor of Najaf extended his condolences over the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, describing him as an exceptional and multifaceted figure whose life brought unparalleled contributions and blessings to the Islamic world, and whose martyrdom, he said, will serve as a lasting source of inspiration for the Islamic Ummah and all freedom-seeking people around the world.

Kanawi also announced the full readiness of Najaf's local authorities to mobilize all available administrative, service, and security capacities to ensure the funeral is held in the most dignified and well-organized manner. He described the event as a historic occasion that would further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the peoples of Iran and Iraq.
