Representatives and religious leaders from 90 countries to attend funeral ceremony for Iran's martyred Leader

Pars Today – The secretary of the National Headquarters for the farewell and funeral ceremonies of Iran's martyred Leader announced that senior officials and heads of state from more than 30 countries, as well as religious scholars, intellectuals, and faith leaders from over 90 countries, have so far confirmed their intention to attend the ceremonies.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian, secretary of the National Headquarters for the farewell and funeral ceremonies of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said at a press conference outlining the objectives of the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies:

"One of the most important goals of holding these ceremonies on a grand scale is to reaffirm the allegiance of the Muslim Ummah to the third Leader of the Islamic Revolution."

He added that the funeral procession for the martyred Leader would serve as a demonstration of the strength, unity, and resilience of the Islamic Republic of Iran, showcasing national solidarity and the support of various groups and segments of society.

Pourjamshidian also referred to the mrtyred Leader's standing in Iraq, saying that his religious authority and position in the country stemmed from his role as a senior religious authority. He added that, from this perspective, the ceremonies hold special significance for the people of Iraq.

Referring to the international dimension of the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies for the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian said that one of the most significant aspects of the event is the participation of foreign guests and delegations from various international levels.

He noted that more than 30 countries have so far announced their intention to attend the ceremonies and pay their respects to the martyred Leader, adding that this level of participation reflects his influence and standing both regionally and internationally.

Pourjamshidian also reported broad interest from prominent academic, religious, and political figures around the world. He said that scholars, religious authorities, faith leaders, and representatives of different religious communities from more than 90 countries have expressed their readiness to attend the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies and pay tribute to the late Leader.

He added that the farewell ceremonies will begin on Saturday at the Tehran Mosalla, with funeral prayers scheduled for the second day. The farewell program will then continue until 8:00 p.m.

He added that on Monday, July 6th, the farewell procession and funeral ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution will be held. Given the expected turnout of millions of mourners, he said, meticulous planning and close coordination among all relevant institutions are essential.

Outlining the schedule for the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies, Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian said that, under the current plan, on July 7th, funeral prayers will be held at the Jamkaran Holy Mosque, followed by the funeral procession for the martyred Leader of Iran in the holy city of Qom, in accordance with the planned arrangements.

He added that on July 8th, an official reception ceremony will be held at either Najaf or Baghdad airport. Then a procession will be held through the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf.

The secretary of the National Headquarters for the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies concluded by saying that, according to the schedule, the final funeral procession and burial ceremony will take place on July 9th in the holy city of Mashhad.
