Funeral procession programs for Iran’s martyred Leader start in Tehran / Capital to host pilgrims and lovers of Imam Seyed Ali Khamenei

Pars Today – The official farewell ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution will begin on Saturday in Tehran, with the Iranian capital hosting pilgrims and lovers of Imam Seyed Ali Khamenei from across the country.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Tehran Governor and head of the ceremony headquarters, Mohammad-Sadegh Motamedian, outlined the details in a press conference. He said that on Saturday, pilgrims will be received and accommodated at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla in Tehran and other designated locations. On Sunday, funeral prayers and farewell ceremonies will continue, while the main ceremony will be held on Monday, July 6.

Motamedian stated that the scale of attendance is expected to be unprecedented and historic, adding that extensive national and provincial planning has been carried out to organize the arrival of people from the farthest regions of Iran.

He also emphasized that security is the top priority of the organizing committee, noting that responsibility lies with Iran’s military, law enforcement, intelligence, and judicial bodies. He added that, in coordination with all institutions in Tehran Province, appropriate security conditions have been established.

Tehran’s governor emphasized that all executive bodies are fully prepared, stating:

“We proudly announce that, by utilizing all popular, national, and provincial capacities, we are ready to properly host the pilgrims of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution.”

Motamedian noted the large scale of public participation in Iran, saying:

“For perhaps the first time in Iran, a ceremony of this magnitude is being held, which over a period of about 15 to 20 days will involve the movement of millions of people.”

He also announced that all counties in Tehran Province are fully prepared to support pilgrims, adding that local governors have been instructed to activate accommodation and hospitality capacities in their cities so that if Tehran reaches full capacity, pilgrims can be housed in surrounding towns.

He further expressed appreciation for the broad participation of the Iranian public, stating that a large portion of services will be provided by popular volunteer groups and mawakib, with thousands of people volunteering to assist.

Motamedian stressed that one of the main policies of the national organizing committee is to preserve people’s dignity alongside ensuring security, health, and order, adding that all services are being designed in a way befitting the people and the scale of this ceremony.
