Dense Rows of Iranian Mourners Join Funeral Prayer for the Martyred Leader and His Family at Tehran Mosalla
Pars Today – The second day of the farewell ceremonies for the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution began on Sunday morning with enthusiastic public participation and the presence of senior civilian and military officials at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, from the early hours of Sunday morning, people from all walks of life gathered at the Mosalla to take part in the funeral prayer for the martyred Imam. The ceremony for the funeral prayer of the martyred Leader of Iran and his family was held in an atmosphere filled with grief and sorrow, alongside expressions of devotion and loyalty to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
A number of senior national and military officials joined the public in the ceremony, paying tribute to the memory of the martyred Leader.
The massive turnout of both citizens and officials was described as a powerful display of unity, solidarity, and commitment to the values of the Islamic Revolution.
The atmosphere at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla has been marked by mourning and religious observances, as elegists recited lamentations in memory of Imam Hussein (pbuh) and the martyred Leader, creating a solemn setting for the ceremony.
Mourners, dressed in black and carrying red flags symbolizing the pursuit of justice and retribution, took part in chest-beating rituals and chanted slogans including “Death to America” and “Revenge, Revenge,” reaffirming their loyalty to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the principle of Wilayat.
Despite an intense heatwave, the large turnout remained undiminished. Organizers installed water-misting systems throughout the Mosalla grounds and distributed cold drinks to attendees to help cope with the high temperatures. Police and traffic authorities also implemented temporary traffic restrictions on roads leading to the venue to manage security and the movement of crowds.
Later on Sunday, the body of Iran’s martyred Leader is scheduled to leave the Tehran Mosalla ahead of Monday’s funeral procession and final farewell. According to the report, the procession route is expected to draw more than 10 million people from Tehran and other parts of the country.
