Global media continue extensive coverage of massive crowds at farewell ceremony for Iran’s martyred Leader

Pars Today – International news outlets continue to report on the massive turnout of Iranians attending the farewell ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, publishing extensive images and reports of the historic event.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, the continued presence of large crowds of mourners at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla for the farewell ceremony and funeral prayers has received significant attention from international media.

The Indian news outlet India Today reported that, amid the large-scale funeral ceremonies for Iran’s martyred Leader, the body of his 14-month-old grandchild drew more attention than any other image from the event. According to the report, the child’s coffin, placed alongside those of the martyred Leader and other family members, transformed the ceremony from a purely political and national event into a scene of profound human grief. The outlet added that the image of the child has become the most enduring symbol of the ceremony for many observers.

Pakistani television networks broadcast the historic funeral prayer ceremony live, reporting that millions of Iranians had gathered to bid farewell to their Leader. According to the broadcasts, participants expressed a strong determination to seek revenge for those martyred in the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.

Ami Ayalon, the former head of Israel’s Shin Bet security service, told the Israeli channel i24NEWS that the large-scale funeral ceremony for Iran’s martyred Leader reflected the country's strength. He said, “Trump really does not understand who he is dealing with,” adding that despite recent experience in West Asia, the U.S. president was pursuing the wrong course.

The English-language website of Al Jazeera, which created a dedicated page to cover the farewell ceremonies, reported that the second day of public mourning for Iran’s martyred Leader drew large crowds of mourners to Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla. It added that participants chanted slogans against the United States and Israel, as well as slogans calling for justice for the martyred Leader.

The Japan Times also reported on the second day of the funeral ceremonies, noting that funeral prayers were held in Tehran and attended by large crowds of mourners dressed in black and carrying red flags, which it described as symbols of justice and retribution. The newspaper added that participants performed traditional mourning rituals and chanted slogans including “Death to America” and “Revenge, Revenge.”
