Iranian Capital in Mourning for the Sun; A Historic Farewell by the People and Officials to the Martyred Leader of the Revolution

ParsToday – The magnificent and historic funeral procession for the martyred Imam and warrior of the faith has begun today, Monday, with the passionate presence of the grateful and revolutionary people in Tehran; a presence that once again demonstrated a manifestation of the nation's loyalty to the ideals of the Revolution and its martyrs.

According to ParsToday, citing IRIB News Agency, from the early hours of this morning, Monday, the streets leading to the funeral route were filled with crowds carrying Iranian flags and images of the martyred leader of the Revolution, and chanting epic slogans, once again displaying a scene of national unity and devotion to the ideals of the martyred Imam.

Iranian people from all walks of life—men and women, young and old—have gathered at this ceremony to pay their respects to the martyred Imam of the Ummah with a grand farewell. The atmosphere along the funeral route is filled with spirituality, the sound of elegy, and tears of longing. As the funeral procession moves, civil and military officials, alongside the people of Iran, accompany the leader of the Revolution to his eternal home.

The funeral ceremony for the martyred leader of the Revolution will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the holy city of Qom, and on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Mashhad, where he will be laid to rest in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH).

A special farewell and funeral ceremony will also be held on Wednesday, July 8, in the cities of Najaf and Karbala.
