Holy Jamkaran Mosque in mourning: Historic farewell to Iran's martyred Leader in Qom + Photos

Pars Today – Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, one of Iran's senior Shia clerics, led funeral prayers early Tuesday morning at the Holy Jamkaran Mosque for the martyred Leader of the Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and members of his family, in the presence of vast crowds of mourners and supporters of the Islamic Revolution.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, following the funeral prayers, the coffins of the martyred Leader and his family members began a funeral procession carried by mourners from the Holy Jamkaran Mosque to the Shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (peace be upon her) in the city of Qom, south of Tehran Province.

From the early hours of Tuesday morning, streams of mourners gathered at the Holy Jamkaran Mosque and along Payambar Azam Boulevard in Qom to bid farewell to a leader who devoted his life to safeguarding Islam, the Islamic Revolution, and the dignity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mourners from provinces across Iran began arriving at the Holy Jamkaran Mosque on Monday afternoon to attend the funeral prayers and procession. By Monday night, the mosque's courtyards and surrounding streets were filled with crowds. Waves of mourners continue to arrive, with groups traveling on foot and by vehicle, carrying red "Ya Litharat al-Husayn" flags alongside the tricolor flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

PayambarAzam Boulevard, stretching between the Shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh and the Holy Jamkaran Mosque, has been prepared to accommodate the historic farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Revolution.

The ceremony in Qom follows Monday's funeral procession in Tehran, where millions of people took part in the farewell, creating memorable scenes of public participation.

The funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader are scheduled to continue in Iraq on Wednesday.
