Pars Today – Major General Mohsen Rezaei, who served as commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps during the eight-year Iran-Iraq War, described the funeral procession for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution as a historic event. Stressing the need for retaliation, he said, "The people's sacred anger has been awakened, and today the Iranian nation is chanting 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel' with the same resolve it showed at the beginning of the Islamic Revolution."

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Rezaei said in an interview with Iran's News Network on Tuesday night that the funeral procession for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution was unprecedented and historic.

He added that international media outlets and public figures had acknowledged the scale of the event and that many were still in a state of astonishment.

He continued: "The enemy believed Iran was politically and militarily weak, but everyone witnessed that the Iranian nation not only delivered an appropriate military response, but also acted on the political front. They truly launched a new revolution, and through the funeral procession they gave an ideological response inspired by the slogan 'Ya Litharat al-Husain' ('O avengers of Husain'), calling for vengeance."

Referring to public anger over the U.S. and Israel's role in the killing of the Leader of the Revolution, Mohsen Rezaei said:

"Today, a revolutionary anger and sacred outrage have emerged among the Iranian people because a leader they deeply loved was martyred, along with his family, by the United States and Israel. This anger is accompanied by greater awareness and awakening."

Major General Mohsen Rezaei stressed the need for retaliation against those responsible for the killing of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, saying:

"Retribution must be carried out, and the people have every right to demand it. I assure the Iranian people that we will avenge the blood of our martyred Leader and all those martyred in the Ramadan War. The presence of massive crowds across Iran for several days despite the intense heat reflects not only emotion, but also the awareness and awakening of the great Iranian nation."

Concluding his remarks, Rezaei referred to the funeral procession in Iraq, saying:

"The funeral procession for the martyred Leader in Iraq will strengthen the ties between the two countries. The closer the governments and peoples of Iran and Iraq become, the greater their role will be in advancing the independence of the West Asia region and freeing it from the influence of the United States and Israel."
