Pezeshkian: Massive turnout at funeral of martyred Leader was a renewed commitment to dignity, independence, and justice

Pars Today — In a message addressed to the great nation of Iran, the Muslim world, and freedom-seeking people across the globe, Iran’s president expressed his gratitude for the massive public participation in the farewell, funeral, and burial ceremonies of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, describing the historic turnout as a lasting manifestation of the Iranian people’s loyalty, national solidarity, and the unity of the Islamic community.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Masoud Pezeshkian described the large gatherings in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, Najaf, and Karbala as an unparalleled display of loyalty, solidarity, and the deep bond between the people and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

He emphasized that the massive turnout was not merely a farewell to a leader, but also a renewed commitment by the Iranian nation to the path of dignity, independence, justice, and progress.

Referring to the role played by various segments of society, religious authorities and scholars, service personnel, members of the media, and all those involved in organizing the ceremonies, the Iranian president expressed appreciation for the broad domestic and international support shown in commemorating the martyred Leader and stressed the importance of preserving the nation’s unity and cohesion.

Pezeshkian also expressed special appreciation to the government, people, and officials of Iraq, as well as tribal leaders, the holy shrines, organizers of pilgrimage processions, caretakers of the sacred sites, and all those who mobilized their country’s resources and capabilities to facilitate the funeral and farewell ceremonies in Najaf and Karbala. He described this cooperation as a shining example of the brotherly and strategic ties between Iran and Iraq and a symbol of the unity of the Islamic world.

Meanwhile, Mohsen Rezaei, the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard during the eight-year Iran–Iraq War, wrote in a message to the Iraqi people and government that the dignified and grand hosting of the body of the martyred Leader of the nation reflected the greatness and awareness of the Iraqi people and once again demonstrated the depth of the bonds of brotherhood and faith between the two neighboring nations. He expressed his deepest gratitude to Iraq’s prime minister, cabinet members, religious scholars and authorities, tribal communities, security forces, and the Iraqi people.

Also, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council, issued a message thanking the millions of people from Iran, Iraq, and other countries who participated in the funeral procession of the martyred Leader. He called on everyone to preserve this unprecedented unity and continue along the honorable path of the martyrs.
