Pars Today — Iran’s foreign minister, reacting to the U.S. military strikes on southern Iran and the martyrdom of several civilians, said that the country would defend every inch of its territory until the last breath.
According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi wrote on his personal page in response to the U.S. attacks on southern Iran:
“Three villagers were martyred while crossing the Bandar Khamir Bridge. They were absolutely innocent, and we will never allow their blood to be in vain. Iran is our homeland—from south to north, and from east to west. We will defend every inch of our land until our very last breath.”
Mohammad Reza Aref, Iran’s first vice president, also reacted to the U.S. military action, saying:
“In the national and strategic doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the country’s north, south, east, and west are merely administrative and geographical divisions. What remains indivisible is the singular reality called ‘Great Iran.’ Any aggression against even a single inch of this land is an assault on the entire system, the country’s sovereignty, and the territorial integrity of Great Iran.”
He added that Iran’s response to this brazen act of aggression would be based on comprehensive and intelligent planning and would rely on major elements of surprise.
