Iranian Foreign Ministry vows to use all available means to exercise Iran's legitimate right to self-defense

Pars Today – Iran's Foreign Ministry, in a statement praising the country's armed forces, reaffirmed the Iranian nation's steadfast and heroic defense of the country against unlawful U.S. threats and attacks.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, the Foreign Ministry said Iran would use all available means to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense and protect its rights, national interests, and security against what it called U.S. and Israeli aggression.

The ministry described the continued naval blockade, unlawful threats, and attacks on civilian infrastructure as clear acts of aggression and violations of the UN Charter.

The statement also criticized the UN Security Council for its silence and accused the UN Secretary-General of failing to respond to the alleged U.S. aggression, saying such inaction is inconsistent with their legal responsibilities.

Referring to the U.S. role in destabilizing the Strait of Hormuz and escalating regional tensions, the Foreign Ministry said claims concerning the passage of ships had served as a pretext for military actions and pressure against Iran.

The statement further stressed that, while condemning U.S. aggression, Iran remains committed to maintaining friendly relations with its neighbors and to defending its independence, national dignity, and sovereignty. It also said regional governments have a legal, religious, and moral responsibility to prevent the United States and Israel from using their territories and facilities to launch attacks against Iran.

Araghchi warns regional states against supporting aggressors

In the same context, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, during a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, discussed the continued plots and acts of aggression by the United States and Israel in the region.

Referring to Iran's full readiness to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security, Araghchi stressed that any act of aggression or hostile action by the United States or Israel, or any participation or support by regional countries, would be met with a firm and proportionate response from Iran's powerful armed forces. He added that responsibility for all consequences arising from such actions would rest with those responsible for initiating them.
