“Ya Latharat al-Hussain” resonates at Arbaeen walk for those left behind: A display of love and calls for retribution across Iranian cities

Pars Today – As Arbaeen approaches, the Arbaeen pilgrimage for those unable to travel to Karbala has begun with the participation of millions of people in Tehran and other Iranian cities. This year’s gathering, held under the slogan “We Must Rise” and in remembrance of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and resistance figures, has become a display of devotion, loyalty, and calls for retribution.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, the large-scale Arbaeen walk for those unable to attend the pilgrimage in Karbala began at sunrise on Tuesday at 6 a.m. in Tehran and other Iranian cities under the main slogan “We Must Rise.”

The symbol of the clenched fist of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution has been featured across cultural materials along the pilgrimage routes. This year’s ceremony has been influenced by the memory of martyred leaders and commanders of the resistance, and the walk is being held in their honor.

Pilgrims carrying flags bearing “Ya Latharat al-Hussain” voiced their strong condemnation of the crimes of the Israeli regime and the United States.

For these devoted people, whose hearts are filled with love for the Prophet’s household and whose souls are overflowing with the desire for pilgrimage, distance and borders have no meaning. Today, they travel a route toward Tehran’s qibla and create scenes that closely resemble those in Iraq.

The Arbaeen walk for those unable to make the pilgrimage in 2026 is being held as the Iranian people are mourning the loss of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the martyrdom of hundreds of people in the Ramadan War. Therefore, at the starting point of the Tehran march, Imam Hussein Square, symbols and memorials dedicated to the martyrs have been installed, including a booth honoring the martyrs of Minab School.

The people of Tehran and other Iranian cities are joining the crowds along the pilgrimage route in groups, with families and friends participating together.

The Hussaini pilgrims in this march, carrying “Ya Latharat al-Hussain” flags and images of the martyred leader and other martyrs, have displayed the spiritual connection between the Ashura movement and the Resistance Front.

Arbaeen of Imam Hussein is not merely a historical commemoration or a simple religious ritual; rather, it is an annual gathering to renew allegiance to the ideals of freedom, justice-seeking, and opposition to oppression embodied by the movement of Imam Hussein (pbuh). This great movement, rooted in the awakening tradition of Lady Zaynab al-Kubra and Imam Sajjad (pbut), has, after centuries and with the blessing of the Islamic Revolution, become the world’s largest ideological display, social cohesion event, and human gathering.

Millions of pilgrims from around the world walk the route from Najaf to Karbala each year, becoming a voice that has not fallen silent throughout history.
