ParsToday — The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the continuation of Iran-Oman negotiations aimed at regulating safe maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, and assessed the prevailing atmosphere as positive.

According to ParsToday, citing Mehr News Agency, Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding the latest details of the Iran-Oman talks, said: "These negotiations, as dialogue between the two littoral states of the Strait of Hormuz, are being pursued with a focus on determining safe routes for the passage of ships—routes that, while ensuring sovereign rights, would also take into account the national security considerations of both Iran and Oman."

Stating that the talks so far have been assessed as positive at both the technical and political levels, he said: "Iran is striving, in cooperation with Oman, to develop the necessary mechanisms for future arrangements regarding the management of maritime traffic in this strategic waterway, and the final results of these negotiations will be announced after finalization."
