Commemorative ceremonies for 40th day of martyred Leader to be held in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad

Pars Today — The Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has announced that commemorative ceremonies marking the 40th day since the historic funeral and burial of the martyred leader will be held in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the statement issued by the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution reads:

“Coinciding with the 40th day since the historic funeral and burial of the sacred body of the Martyred Leader of Iran, commemorative ceremonies honoring the esteemed leader and his family will be held in Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad by Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

The commemorative ceremony in Tehran will be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the prayer hall of Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla. In Qom, the ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 19, after Maghrib and Isha prayers at the shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (pbuh). In Mashhad, the ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 20, coinciding with the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari, after Maghrib and Isha prayers at the Imam Reza (pbuh) Holy Shrine.

The Iranian people are invited to attend the commemorative ceremonies honoring the martyred leader. The enthusiastic and widespread participation of Iranians and devotees of the two leaders of the Islamic Revolution in the 40th-day commemoration will represent a renewed pledge of allegiance to the Leadership of the Islamic Revolution and reaffirm their commitment to continuing the path of the Martyred Leader of Iran.
