Qalibaf responds to Bessent’s rhetoric: Your ridiculous performance was like a stand-up show at a nightclub

Pars Today – The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, in a post, described the U.S. Treasury Secretary’s claims about new sanctions against Iran as ridiculous.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who had previously claimed that the new sanctions against Iran would be as powerful and decisive as the D-Day operation, appeared flustered at a press conference on Tuesday when a reporter questioned him about the emptiness of the claim. He responded: “Why would I want to blow up the global financial system?!”

In response to Bessent’s apparent retreat and contradictory remarks, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, wrote in a post on social media: “Sir this ain’t Normandy, this is improv night and you forgot your own script!”
