Major General Rezaei: Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz depends on U.S. meeting Iran's conditions

ParsToday – The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council has linked the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to the fulfillment of Iran's conditions by the United States, including efforts to halt the war in West Asia, particularly in Lebanon and Gaza.

According to ParsToday, citing IRIB News Agency, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated in an interview with Al-Manar TV that among Iran's conditions in any agreement with the United States are: a ceasefire across various fronts in West Asia—especially in Lebanon—the withdrawal of the Zionist regime from the Lebanese territories it has occupied, in addition to ending the war in the Gaza Strip and halting the Zionist regime's attacks on Syria. He believes that the region has become an "interconnected chain," such that security instability in any country leads to higher investment costs and undermines development opportunities in other nations.

Regarding the military situation, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council asserted that the Zionist regime is no longer capable of advancing toward the southern suburbs of Beirut (Dahiyeh), given the losses inflicted on the regime by Hezbollah over the past three or four months, as well as what he described as "Iran's threat," which he considers highly effective. He added that the southern suburbs and Beirut are a "red line" for Iran, and stressed that Tehran is "seriously" monitoring developments and that the Zionist regime will be forced to retreat from the Lebanese territories it has entered.

In another part of his remarks, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council outlined a series of firm positions toward the United States and the Zionist regime, emphasizing that Iran is not seeking war, but in the event of a resumption of confrontation, it is preparing itself for a new phase, and stressed that any future war would be "different" from previous ones.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Major General Mohsen Rezaei linked its full reopening to the implementation of Iran's conditions by the United States, including efforts to stop the war in West Asia, especially in Lebanon and Gaza.

He said that Iran has prepared a list of conditions to present to the Americans and is currently allowing temporary and specified passage for ships through the middle of the strait, adding that the future of transit through it will depend on developments in the agreement with Washington.
