Iran’s volleyball men crowned world champions / Maj. Gen. Vahidi: You gave meaning to “We Can”

Pars Today – Iran’s tall teenage volleyball players defeated France to win the title at the FIVB U17 Boys’ World Championship.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Iran’s U17 men’s national volleyball team faced France at 5:30 p.m. Tehran time on Saturday in the second edition of the world championship and defeated the French side 3–1 to be crowned world champions.

Coached by Arash Sadeghiani, Iran lost the third set 25–22, but won the first, second and fourth sets 25–18, 25–15 and 25–12, respectively, to claim victory in the major final. With seven consecutive wins, Iran secured the U17 World Championship title for the first time.

Major General Vahidi: You Gave Meaning to “We Can”

Major General Ahmad Vahidi, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), congratulated Iran’s teenage national volleyball team on their world championship, writing in a message: “To the champion teenagers of Iran’s national volleyball team, greetings and congratulations to you for demonstrating, through your heroic performance, the determination and iron will of a proud nation on the world stage. Through your dedication and tireless efforts, amid the enemy’s intense psychological warfare, you once again gave meaning to ‘We Can.’”

Qalibaf: Iranian Youth Proved That No Major Arena Is Beyond Their Reach

Meanwhile, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, said in a message: “Iranian youth have proven that whenever knowledge and technical capability are combined with national pride, determination and a champion’s spirit, no major arena is beyond the reach of Iran’s children.”

He added: “Iran’s outstanding volleyball players brought joy to the hearts of millions of Iranians with this achievement and once again demonstrated that Iran’s true asset is its talented and faithful young people, who can bring honor to Iran and Iranians in any arena and under any circumstances. They once again reminded everyone that Iran, with its young people, recognizes no limits when it comes to achieving glory on any field.”
