Iranian Foreign Ministry: US military aggression against Larak Island clear violation of UN Charter

Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding the US military aggression against Larak Island and Iran’s defensive response.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that, under the inherent right of legitimate self-defense, Iran’s powerful Armed Forces carried out forceful defensive strikes against US military bases in Jordan that served as the launch point and support for the US military aggression against Iran.

The ministry strongly condemned the US military aggression against Larak Island in southern Iran, describing it as a clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter. It also stressed the responsibility of the UN Security Council to hold the aggressor accountable.

The statement added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran reminds the UN Secretary-General, the President of the Security Council, and all governments that have expressed concern over the continued insecurity in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz that the sole factor behind the insecurity of the region’s shipping routes has been the illegal and aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime.”

According to the statement, those actions began with the attack on Iran on February 28 and have continued in various forms over the past six months, including a naval blockade and other provocative and interventionist measures.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces will not hesitate to exercise their inherent right to self-defense and will respond decisively and appropriately to any military aggression by the enemy.
