Pars Today — Iran’s delegation at the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), warning against the normalization of U.S. and Israeli attacks on nuclear facilities, declared: “Today Iran is the target; tomorrow it could be another country. Stay vigilant and be prepared. Welcome to the new world disorder.”
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation, in a statement under the agenda item “Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection” at the quarterly Board of Governors meeting in Vienna, referred to U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities in 2025 and 2026, stating: “Together, they bombed the UN Charter, the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the fundamental principles of nuclear safety.”
Recalling the concerns expressed by the IAEA General Conference in Resolution 444 regarding the radiological safety implications of attacks on nuclear facilities, the statement said: “This demonstrates how irresponsible the joint U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards have been.”
In another part of the statement, the Islamic Republic of Iran called for the lifting of unilateral sanctions and restrictions that impede international cooperation in the field of nuclear safety.
The Iranian delegation, emphasizing the strength and resilience of Iran’s nuclear safety system, stated: “During the recent widespread and unprecedented attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities, the nuclear safety infrastructure and Iran’s regulatory framework, under the supervision of this center and supported by emergency preparedness and response capabilities, continued to operate effectively.”
