26 amazing preys; specifications of most famous American drone hunted by Yemen

Pars Today - April 22 was the day when Yemen's Armed Forces informed of shooting down another MQ-9 drone in the country's sky. This drone is known as the most famous American Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.

"MQ-9 Reaper" is one of the best American operational drones which has been used by the country's army since 2007. This drone is considered as the main arm of the American military monitoring in the Red Sea and the Yemeni soil. According to Pars Today, MQ-9 Reaper is made at General Atomics corporation and costs nearly $32 million. Yet, if a foreign country is the customer of this drone, the US will sell it at the price of $100 million adding training and logistics expenses.

MQ-9 is capable of carrying around 1 ton of various missiles, bombs and guided rockets. It can serve for reconnaissance missions, too.

Examining the images released from downing American and Saudi UAVs, since the beginning of the war against Yemen, indicates that the Yemeni Armed Forces have made great progress in a variety of air defense weapons to the extent that even the increase of the flight altitude of American drones has not enabled them to escape from the range of Yemeni defense missiles.

Since the start of the Yemenis' "Promised Victory and Sacred Jihad" in support for the oppressed Palestinian people, 22 advanced and expensive MQ-9 drones have been shot down in the Yemeni sky. So, taking into account those shot since the beginning of the Yemeni war, totally 26 drones have been shot down by the defense systems of the Yemeni Army and popular forces. This has caused $800 million loss for the American invading army.

These losses will definitely increase if the US continues adventurism in the Yemeni soil.
