Pars Today – Media reports say powerful explosions rocked southern Lebanon after the Israeli military reportedly used around 700 tons of explosives near Al-Shaqif (Beaufort) Castle.

According to Pars Today, Al Mayadeen reported that a series of massive explosions followed multiple Israeli airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, RT Arabic reported that the powerful blasts, resulting from Israeli military operations in Yahmour al-Shaqif, Haddatha, and Kfar Tebnit, shook homes across villages in southern Lebanon as far as Sidon, causing widespread alarm among local residents.

In a joint statement, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and war minister Israel Katz claimed that the Israeli military had destroyed tunnels beneath Al-Shaqif Castle in southern Lebanon.

According to the statement, the operation involved the use of approximately 700 tons of explosives.

The two officials also said that the Israeli military would remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon and continue dismantling what they described as hostile infrastructure.

The report added that Israel is systematically demolishing residential areas and infrastructure in southern Lebanon, describing the campaign as an effort to render those areas uninhabitable.
