Yemen denies rumors of imposing transit fees on ships passing through Bab el-Mandeb

Pars Today – Yemen has denied reports claiming that it has decided to impose fees on ships transiting the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC) in Sana’a announced that reports claiming Yemen had decided to impose, set, or collect transit fees from ships passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait were false.

The center stressed that passage through the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait remains free of charge and no fees are being collected.

This comes as Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s Armed Forces, said in a statement that the blockade operation against Saudi Arabia would continue and that Saudi vessels would be targeted wherever possible.
