Iraqi PM: We will not allow our territory to be used against neighbors

Pars Today – The Iraqi prime minister stressed that he will not allow anyone to violate Iraq’s airspace or sovereignty, just as he will not allow Iraqi territory or airspace to be used as a launchpad for attacks against neighboring countries.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, stressing the need to protect Iraq’s sovereignty and national security, said: “Iraq’s airspace and sovereignty are symbols that we will not allow any party to violate the country’s airspace or undermine its security.”

He added: “While working to protect its national security and sovereignty, Iraq will not allow its territory or airspace to become a launching point for attacks against neighboring countries.”

The Iraqi commander-in-chief of the armed forces stressed that his country’s role contributes to strengthening regional security and stability, adding that Iraq’s armed forces constitute a strong bulwark for protecting the country, its sovereignty, and its national decision-making.
