Pars Today – Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak has strongly criticized Netanyahu’s claims about achievements against Iran, saying that over the past five years, the regime has not even managed to push Iran back a few steps.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Ehud Barak, former Israeli war minister and prime minister, spoke about the possibility of another war, saying there is a concern that it could happen and that the concern is not unfounded. However, Netanyahu makes his decisions not based on the interests of the regime but on his own survival in power.

Barak added that Netanyahu has been saying for several years that there are threats not only on the Iranian front but also in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon, and that these threats still remain.

He said Netanyahu needs only a single matchstick to ignite all these fronts and, if necessary, start another war even five days before the elections.

Speaking about Iran, the former Israeli prime minister said: “Netanyahu’s cabinet tells us that Iran is on the verge of collapse, but this is absolutely not true. They have no proper understanding of the issue, and these are nothing but empty words.”

Barak stressed: “It is a disgrace for Israel’s generation that, three years after October 7, 2023, with 2,500 people killed, this cabinet is still in power and claims that it can move us forward, while it has demonstrated complete strategic failure and unprecedented corruption.”
