Pars Today – As the federal government shutdown in the United States enters its 36th day, the American economy is losing between $10 and $30 billion per week — an unprecedented crisis that has paralyzed airports, public services, and economic confidence across the country.

The ongoing federal government shutdown, now the longest in U.S. history, is severely disrupting various public services and affecting the lives of hundreds of thousands of federal employees. According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that, due to staff shortages, air traffic at 40 airports nationwide has been reduced by about 10% to maintain flight safety.

Meanwhile, reports indicate an increase in flight delays and cancellations at major U.S. airports.

Since the start of the official shutdown on October 1, operations at many federal agencies have been suspended, and about 587,000 “non-essential” employees have been placed on unpaid leave. Public services such as national parks, museums, and other federally funded institutions have also been closed.

Repeated efforts by Congress to end the crisis have so far failed. Republicans accuse Democrats of effectively paralyzing the government by rejecting a temporary budget bill, while Democrats insist that the responsibility for reaching a compromise lies with the Republicans, who control both chambers of Congress.

Analysts say the political deadlock between the two major U.S. parties has not only halted vital public services but also severely undermined market confidence. With no signs of agreement between the White House and Congress, experts warn that the continuation of the shutdown could have damaging effects on U.S. economic growth and financial stability in the coming months.
