Pars Today – The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, condemning the explosion in the Pakistani capital, said that terrorism is a threat to the entire region and that confronting this ominous phenomenon requires collective, determined, and united efforts by all countries.
Reza Amiri-Moqaddam, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, on Tuesday, while condemning the terrorist explosion in the city of Islamabad — which killed 12 people and wounded at least 30 others — said: “Terrorism is the sinister plot of cowardly elements who seek to destabilize our region and place obstacles in its path toward sustainable development.”
According to Pars Today, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan emphasized: “This chronic crisis — introduced and fueled by malicious conspiracies — is a shared threat across the region; a place where traitorous elements, hand in hand with international terrorism, target peace, security, and stability.
He said: ‘Combating this ominous phenomenon requires collective, determined, and united efforts by all countries to eradicate every form of terrorism and violent extremism that has claimed the lives of countless innocent people over the past decades.’”
France criticizes U.S. military actions in the Caribbean
Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s Foreign Minister, said at the opening of the G7 summit in Canada that it is essential to prevent “instability resulting from a possible escalation of tensions.” Without directly referring to specific U.S. actions, he said: “We have been watching the military operations in the Caribbean with concern, as they disregard international law.”
100 Democratic members of U.S. Congress call for prosecution of Israeli settlers
In response to the growing wave of violence in the West Bank, 100 Democratic members of the U.S. Congress have urged the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to introduce legislation addressing the extremist actions of Israeli settlers and to ensure that those responsible are prosecuted.
In an official letter to Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the lawmakers emphasized that extremist settler groups continue to carry out terrorist activities against Palestinians without facing any deterrent measures.
Poland’s Independence Day marked by anti-EU chants
This year’s Independence Day celebrations in Poland were marked by large public participation and strong anti-European Union slogans. Demonstrators chanted phrases such as “Poland for Poles” and “This is Poland, not Brussels,” calling for their country’s withdrawal from the EU. In a symbolic act, protesters also burned the European Union flag.
U.S. seeking to build military base near Gaza
Bloomberg reported Tuesday night that the U.S. military is considering establishing a new base capable of housing 10,000 personnel to monitor the Gaza ceasefire. According to the report, the U.S. Navy has asked several defense contractors to provide cost estimates for building a “temporary, self-sufficient operational base capable of supporting 10,000 personnel and providing 10,000 square feet of office space for a duration of 12 months.”
