U.S. prepares for military base for 5,000 troops in Gaza
ParsToday - The Guardian daily has reported on the Trump administration's planning to construct a military base for 5,000 troops in southern Gaza, based on contract documents related to the "Gaza Peace Council."
According to a report by The Guardian, the Trump administration is considering a plan to build a military base spanning more than 350 hectares in Gaza. This base is defined as the operational headquarters for a multinational force operating under the name "Gaza Peace Council." This Western media outlet stated that the documents related to this project were extracted from U.S. government contracts and contain details of the technical and security requirements for the construction of this facility.
According to the report, the Peace Council envisioned by Washington is intended to take over the administration of Gaza, and it is said that besides Trump, Jared Kushner also plays a role in directing it.
In sections of the contract documents, emphasis is placed on conducting geophysical surveys to identify tunnels and underground cavities, a reference to the Palestinian resistance's tunnel network. Additionally, a "Human Remains Protocol" specifies that if human remains are discovered, operations must be halted immediately, and the matter must be reported to the responsible authority.
These developments come at a time when, according to estimates by international institutions, approximately 1.9 million Palestinians have been displaced following the devastating attacks by the Israeli regime. Furthermore, according to the Gaza Civil Defense Agency, it is likely that the bodies of around 10,000 Palestinians remain buried under the rubble.
