ParsToday - The Guardian newspaper called the US President's dream of repeating the "Venezuela scenario" in Iran a delusion.

After the abduction of Nicolas Maduro, the President of Venezuela, in an aggressive operation by US special forces, US President Donald Trump claimed that he intended to implement the same "regime seizure model" in Iran.

According to ParsToday, citing ISNA, while Trump, relying on what he calls the "successful capture of the Venezuelan government," seeks to influence the determination of Iran's future leader after the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei in an American-Zionist terrorist attack, the English newspaper The Guardian, in an analysis, describes this strategy as impractical and simplistic.

In this regard, Benjamin Gedan, Director of the Latin America Program at the Stimson Center Institute and a former expert at the White House National Security Council, said: Establishing a puppet government in Iran is much more impractical than in Venezuela. He described the idea that the US could send its fleets anywhere in the world, then overthrow the existing government in a country with a military operation and establish a government like Delcy Rodríguez's government in Venezuela as a "stupid idea."

Alex Vatanka, Director of the Iran Program at the Middle East Institute in Washington, also called this effort "beyond delusion" and noted that in a situation of apparent conflict and war, no one in the power circle is expected to express a desire to cooperate with the US.

Economic and geopolitical consequences of war with Iran on the global economy

Meanwhile,"Responsible Statecraft" think tank warned in a report that a war against Iran would confront the global economy with deep crises. The report clarified that the consequences of a war with Iran go beyond the energy market. The increase in the price of chemical fertilizers due to disruptions in the production of natural gas in the Persian Gulf is a serious threat to the food security of millions of people. Accordingly, Washington, with this military gamble, has now become a "main factor of instability" that has put not only the global economy but also the economic stability of regions (like Asia) that have experienced the fastest economic growth in the world over the past 30 years at risk of collapse.
