Russian expert: US military base network vulnerable to Iranian hypersonic missiles

Pars Today – A Russian military expert emphasized that the entire network of US military bases abroad is not protected against Iran’s hypersonic missile attacks.

According to Pars Today citing IRNA, Russian military expert Alexander Stepanov said on Saturday: “The entire network of US military bases outside the country is very vulnerable in a West Asia conflict and is not protected against Iranian hypersonic missile attacks."

The expert from the Institute of Law and National Security at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) added: “We have received documentary evidence showing that US military bases, despite assurances of access to all expensive air defense security infrastructure, are incapable of defending themselves against hypersonic weapons.”

Stepanov added: “Despite many questions being raised about the quality of products intended to protect such important and strategic US facilities, these products are still widely offered to European countries.”

He noted: “Europeans, relying on this equipment, have created a complete air defense belt around Russia’s borders, while all this equipment is powerless against hypersonic weapons, and with the use of such equipment, the destruction of American equipment is a guaranteed matter.”
