Russia has presented a draft resolution to the U.N. Security Council on U.S-Israeli war on Iran
Pars Today – Russia has submitted a draft resolution to the United Nations Security Council calling for an end to the conflict in West Asia.
According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA, diplomatic sources stated that Russia has presented a draft resolution to the U.N. Security Council urging all parties to halt hostilities and return to negotiations amid escalating tensions in West Asia.
The proposed resolution states that the Security Council “strongly encourages all relevant parties to return to negotiations without further delay and to make full use of political and diplomatic instruments.”
It adds that the Security Council, “reaffirming the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter and recalling Article 2(4) of the Charter—which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state—emphasizes the need to uphold these principles.”
The Russian draft resolution further stresses that the Security Council “condemns, in the strongest possible terms, all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, calls for their protection, and reiterates the obligations of all parties under international law, including international humanitarian law.”
The resolution also underscores “the importance of ensuring the security of all countries in the West Asian region and beyond.”
Russia’s Foreign Minister said on Sunday, in response to the ongoing war in West Asia: “We want to clarify what kind of world we are living in. We believe that the United States must explain its plans and how its actions align with what has previously been defined internationally as established norms.”
The joint military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran—during which Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred—began at dawn February 28, 2026. This attack occurred while indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S., mediated by several regional countries, were underway.
