Tokyo rejects Washington's request: We will not send Navy to West Asia

Pars Today – Japan has rejected the United States' request to send naval forces to West Asia.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in a state of desperation due to Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, announced that talks are underway with 7 countries regarding this vital waterway, and that negotiations with other countries are also in progress. 

According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA, Sanae Takaichi, the Prime Minister of Japan, in response to the request of US President Donald Trump, who had said, "We have invited some countries to send naval forces to West Asia," stated: "We currently have no plans to send naval forces to West Asia to escort ships."

In this regard, the Japanese Minister of Defense also announced: "Following Trump's request regarding the Strait of Hormuz, we have no intention of conducting any maritime security operations."

According to a recent poll by the Jiji Press news agency, about 75% of the Japanese people oppose an attack by the United States and Israel on Iran.
