New York Times: Trump worst president in U.S. history / He is trapped in Iran quagmire

In an analytical report, The New York Times wrote that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has inflicted extensive and unprecedented damage on public and private institutions, democratic traditions, the judicial system, and universities within the United States, as well as on the country’s relations with its allies around the world. The report states: “He is the worst president in U.S. history.”

The article adds that Trump, by cutting the budget of the National Institutes of Health, has canceled clinical trials, which has led to the premature deaths of many cancer patients.

The New York Times also wrote that Trump is now caught in a situation where whichever path he chooses—either escalating the war against Iran or retreating—will carry heavy costs. The crisis has turned into a dangerous deadlock for him, one that is not easy to escape.

The American newspaper added: “Trump began the war against Iran based on the false promises of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but events did not unfold as promised, and all the dreams collapsed in the face of Iran’s unbelievable resistance.
