Pars Today – A former U.S. State Department negotiator said that President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran has backed away from its statements is “either fabricated or based on misunderstanding.”
According to Pars Today, Alan Eyre, in an interview broadcast early Tuesday on CNN, stated: “Many of the things we hear from Donald Trump do not match the realities on the ground.”
Eyre, who is currently a researcher at the Middle East Institute, added that there is “very little likelihood” of Iran reaching a deal similar to the 2015 agreement (the JCPOA), because more issues are now on the table beyond the nuclear program—particularly the Strait of Hormuz.
He also noted that the U.S. and Israeli war against Iran imposed an additional $37.5 billion cost on American consumers in the energy sector.
Meanwhile, the latest data from Brown University in Rhode Island shows that the aggressive war by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran has imposed more than $37.5 billion in additional energy costs on Americans.
The “Energy War Cost Tracker,” launched by the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University and used to estimate these costs in real time, indicates that the price of gasoline in the United States has increased by 51.6%, rising from $2.98 to $4.52 per gallon, adding about $20.5 billion in costs for American consumers.
The tracker also shows that diesel prices in the U.S. have risen by 53.6%, from $3.67 to $5.63 per gallon, creating an additional $17 billion in expenses for Americans.
