ParsToday — The American TV network CBS has announced that the United States has expended nearly all of its precision long-range missile stockpiles in the war with Iran.
According to ParsToday, CBS News, citing two informed sources, reported that the United States has consumed almost its entire global stockpile of precision long-range missiles during the war with Iran, particularly depleting its entire inventory of ATACMS missiles.
The network, citing US officials, wrote that the greatest concern at present is over the number of interceptor missiles for the Patriot and THAAD systems, as their consumption continues at a rate faster than America's industrial capacity to replace or produce new ones.
Previously, CNN had also reported, citing informed sources, that the US military has consumed approximately 80% of its THAAD interceptor missiles and nearly half of its Patriot missiles since the start of the war with Iran.
According to the report, US forces have also expended about half of their Tomahawk cruise missile stockpiles in the war with Iran.
cCting its sources, CNN added that senior US military commanders have warned about the dangerously declining ammunition stockpiles of the Department of Defense, and this has become one of the Pentagon's primary concerns.
Meanwhile, US officials have told CNN that the depletion of US air defense systems has also raised concerns among some Persian Gulf countries.
