Pars Today – A professor of international studies at the University of San Francisco described Washington’s allies in the Persian Gulf as the main victims of the war against Iran, saying that the US attacks on Iran are being carried out not based on strategic calculations, but out of desperation.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Stephen Zunes, a professor of international studies and head of the West Asian Studies program at the University of San Francisco, said in an interview with reporters that the war with Iran has damaged US relations and credibility at various levels.
Zunes, noting that Washington’s Persian Gulf allies are dissatisfied because the United States did not consult them before launching its military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, added: “It was quite clear that these countries would be the main victims of this war.”
He further noted that, in many respects, the US attacks on Iran are more of a means of venting frustration, stressing: “These attacks are not based on strategic calculations but are driven by desperation, and they will not produce any results.”
