Tokyo 2020 rowing: Malaei advances to semifinals A/B

In Women’s Rowing, Iran’s Nazanin Malaei has booked a spot in the semi-finals A/B of single sculls of the Tokyo Olympics.

According to Press TV, despite suffering from a minor injury, Malaei finished 3rd in her quarterfinals competition to advance to the next stage. She clocked a time of eight minutes, 7.32 seconds to cross the finish line behind rivals from New Zealand and Switzerland.

The Iranian will compete for a place in the final on Thursday as the event was pushed back by a day, due to the threat of poor weather conditions.
