  • Iran ready to share academic experiences with Tajikistan: President

Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi highlighted the major scientific advances that the country’s universities have made in various fields, expressing readiness to share those experiences with Tajikistan and other neighboring states.

According to Tasnim news agency, in an address to a meeting of students and professors at the Tajik National University in Dushanbe on Friday, President Raeisi said the Iranian universities have made remarkable advances at the international level in various fields, such as technology and engineering, medicine and humanities.

“We are prepared to provide our experiences in those fields for Tajikistan and other neighboring countries,” the president added.

"Today, a complete set of nanotechnology equipment was donated by Iran to the Tajik National University, and students from Tajikistan will be able to be admitted to Iranian universities,” he stated.

The Iranian president also thanked the Tajik university for awarding him an honorary doctorate and said, "For me, being a student of seminary is superior to any other title.”

Elsewhere in his comments, President Raeisi said the region is the cradle of science, culture and civilization, adding, "The great cultural figures of this region presented religious teachings in the form of art and poetry and therefore it is very important and valuable for researchers to know these figures and their valuable works."

“Today, knowledge is the basis of all developments, and there are acceptable and lasting developments that are based on knowledge,” the Iranian president stated.

"Today, the Western societies claim to be the pioneers of science and knowledge, but the question is that has this science and knowledge caused the rights of human beings and the sanctity of the culture of nations to be respected by them?" he asked.

The President added, "Today we are witnessing a widespread Western invasion on human rights and the cultural identity of other societies, and wherever there is resistance against their cultural invasion, they seek to change the tastes of that society in order to impose their own culture."

President Raeisi then referred to the priority of relations with the neighbors in the foreign policy of his administration, noting, "In the new era, developing relations with friendly and neighboring countries such as Tajikistan is a priority in the Iranian diplomacy."
