The Kremlin says Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, will exchange views on a range of issues, including joint economic and trade projects when the latter visits Moscow on Wednesday.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Kremlin Press Office said Putin and Raeisi will discuss the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) during the latter’s upcoming trip to Moscow.

They will also discuss all issues related to bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in economic and trade fields, as well as important international and regional developments, it added.

At the invitation of Putin, Raeisi will travel to Russia on Wednesday with the aim of expanding economic, political, and cultural interactions between Tehran and Moscow.

He will meet with the Russian president and address the plenary session of the Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament.

Additionally, Raeisi is scheduled to hold a meeting with Iranians living in Russia and Russian economic activists during his two-day trip.

Iran and Russia, which are both under Western sanctions, have in recent years developed close relations in political, security, defense, economic, and energy fields.

They are currently implementing joint projects in oil, gas, nuclear, and railway sectors.
