President Raeisi vows support for Iran’s nuclear industry
Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi says his administration will continue supporting the nuclear industry within the framework of Iran’s national interests.
According to Press TV, addressing a cabinet session on Sunday, President Raeisi said the nuclear industry is among driving industries in the country. He hailed grand achievements made by young Iranian scientists in this sector.
"In line with serving national interests, the administration considers itself duty-bound to support the nuclear industry," he declared.
Pointing to a visit earlier in the day by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to an exhibition of Iran’s latest achievements in the nuclear industry, the president said the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) would continue the path towards further success based on the Leader's guidelines.
After a 1.5-hour visit to the exhibition, Ayatollah Khamenei met with a group of nuclear experts and officials in Tehran.
The Leader said Iranian nuclear authorities and activists have over the past years set up vital infrastructure for the country’s nuclear industry.
“You may want to reach agreements in some fields. Nothing is wrong with [reaching] agreements, but the infrastructure must remain intact. They must not be harmed. They are the fruit of others’ endeavors,” the Leader stated.
Meanwhile, Head of the AEOI Mohammad Eslami said efforts to sustain and grow the power of Iran's nuclear industry remains high on the organization's agenda.
Speaking during the Leader's meeting with Iranian nuclear experts, Eslami said the AEOI seeks to speed up the progress and effectiveness of the nuclear achievements in improving the country's economy and people's lives.
It would also try to counter the enemies' propaganda and their bids to limit Iran's nuclear activities, he said.
"Despite the threats of ill-wishers, our scientists continue their constant efforts to advance the [nuclear] industry."
